The Benefits Of Tap Water Instead Of Bottled Water

Bottled versus tap is an age old question and also a common one. If you've ever lived on your own or if you've ever been in a restaurant, you would have wondered about this.

Bottles come in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, brands and manufacturing sources. There are tiny, balloon shaped bottles for the guy on the go to large five to ten liter bottles for home use. There're some designer bottled water brands out there, but are they really worth it?

Most of the time, people just opt to read the label and end up making their own comparison study right there in the mall or market. At the end of the day you'll just go with want you want, despite all that consideration. This is just how it goes.

Bottled water tends to come in made of plastic and there's a reason that we're not supposed to throw plastic in the ocean. Aside from other environmental dangers, plastics tend to contaminate and pollute the water they're immersed in and when they contain water for a long period of time, they do that as well.

Despite the plastic packaging woes, tap water remains a little more dangerous. In tap water, you can occasionally find thousands of contaminants, which can include the dangerous e-coli. Bottled water only has to worry about plastic contamination - in tap water, you may have to worry about a whole lot more.

So which one should you go for? Most people would tell you to go for the one that has no chance of having fecal coli in it - that's some great advice.

If you don't trust bottled water as an alternative, you could always filter it yourself. It's not too difficult to setup your own water filter and if you know where to shop, you can get it for cheap.

It's an appealing option as it even saves you money in the long run.
