How to Maintain Your Barbecue

Barbecue is one of the most common cooking processes available in America and several other countries. But it is also true that people who barbecue are prone to injuries related to barbeque's and associated processes. These are some barbecue related tips that you should keep in mind:

Take a look at the fuel: If you are using a charcoal barbecue, do not use gasoline as a starter fluid. Also, make sure that you are using a lighter fluid that is approved by the maker of the BBQ grill. Also, it would be a very good idea to follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the grill manufacturer.

Charcoal grills: When you are using charcoal grills, you should wait for a minute or two after you have soaked the coals with the lighter and starter fluid. This will allow the explosive vapors to disperse a bit, thereby decreasing the risk that one has while cooking at a BBQ grill.

Also, make sure that the lighter and starter fluid is quite far away from the BBQ area. If these are nearby, there is every chance that they may catch fire automatically.

Clothes: While barbecuing, make sure that you are wearing the proper heavy quality barbecue mitts when you are lighting pre-soaked coals. Also, keep in mind that you should not add lighter or starter fluid to warm coals, and definitely not to hot coals.

Another tip that you should keep in mind is to check all the connections that go from a gas grill to the fuel source of the inlet connection. If these connections are not correctly set up, there are many chances that they may blow up or cause other kinds of fire hazards.

These are the most important tips that you should keep in mind while deciding on a barbeque.
