There are many great ways to cook fish, but a lot of people think that you can't do fish on a grill because there will be nothing but a mess, like fish falling through the grates of the grill, but there are ways around that. Grilled food tastes the best, so I know you are excited to get out the grill and your grill tools and start cooking some great tasting, mouth watering, grilled fish.

The tastiest fish to cook on the grill is a fish that can be cut into thick steaks or whole fish. Some of the best fish for fish steaks is tuna, salmon, and swordfish. When grilling fish, don't forget there are also the whole fish like blue fish, striped bass, red snapper and trout that are very tasty right off the grill.

You can also cook other fish on the grill that you never thought you could by simply putting them in foil packs. Catfish, flounder, and tilapia are some of the more tender fish that you can cook in foil packs on the grill.

The key to grilling fish on a grill is to make sure the grill is very hot. Once the fish hits the grill it will toughen up the skin and seal in the juices of the fish. When the grill is very hot, it also helps prevent the fish from sticking to the grates, less mess, we can all use that. If for any reason your fish does stick, just grab your grill tools and in your kit you should have a wire grate cleaner, use that to quickly remove any pieces stuck to the grill.

To cook the more delicate fish on a grill, all you need is foil. Take the fish and lay it on the foil, fold up the ends of the foil to fully enclose the fish and create a foil pack, then put it on the grill. You can also make individual serving meals in the same way. Just put your fish in the foil pack and add your vegetables and seasoning, toss it on the grill for a great tasting meal. Grilling in foil packs also makes for a less messy grill and I know that is a major plus of any cooking adventure.

Grill Tip: Your grill tools should have a pair of long handled tongs in the set. Using the tongs, grab a paper towel that has been folded up and dipped in cooking oil and rub the paper towel over the grates on the preheated grill right before laying the fish on the grill. This will help prevent your fish from sticking to the grill.
