Grilling Fish the Right Way

Barbecuing fish is one of the easiest things to do as fish cooks fast. Grilled fish is more moist than other meats and is faster to cook. The flavor and moisture is retained and the fish does not fry on the grill. However, what you have to be sure of is that the fish does not stick to the grill. A non-stick surface is better to cook fish on and when you brush the surface of the grill with oil put some on the meat too.

This is a meat which cooks so fast that you can keep serving the guest and family and get the next lot done as soon as they are through with one. Fish fillet is the best for barbecuing and once you marinate it most of your work is done. Make sure you have some lemons to brush it with as without the lemon flavor the fish does not taste as good. Do not let the fish get overcooked, you will know when it is done by looking at it as the fish turns opaque when it is cooked and flakes easily. Fish which is not done will remain glossy. Uncooked fish is unhealthy and can cause a severe stomach upset so make sure the fish is done before you serve it. It should be cut into even slices so that the cooking time is uniform.

Do not turn the fish over too many times, just twice will do. This way you do not break the pieces of fillet too and the fish comes off the grill easily. Brush the fish with butter and lemon juice while it is grilling as this gives it a better flavor and absorbs the flavor too. Remember that the butter burns fast so do not overdo this and when you do put butter on let it sizzles a bit and remove the fish.
